Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 is a 2011 British-American fantasy film distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures. It is the second of two cinematic parts based on the novel of the same name by J. K. Rowling, It is the eighth and final instalment in the Harry Potter film series, and the sequel to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010). It was directed by David Yates, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix (2007), Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince (2009) and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, was written by Steve Kloves and produced by David Heyman, David Barron, and Rowling. The story continues to follow Harry Potter's quest to find and destroy Lord Voldemort's Horcruxes in order to stop him once and for all.

Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Robbie Coltrane, Alan Rickman, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Bonnie Wright, Helena Bonham Carter, Gary Oldman, Emma Thompson, Michael Gambon, Evanna Lynch, Jason Isaacs and Maggie Smith all reprise their roles from the previous movies. Principal photography began on February 2009, and was completed on June 2010, with reshoots taking place in December 2010. Deathly Hallows – Part 2 was released in theatres in 2D, 3-D and IMAX cinemas worldwide from July 15, 2011, ten years after the first movie Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001), and is the only Harry Potter film to be released in 3-D.

The film became a financial success and was one of the best-reviewed films of 2011. The film received praise for its visual effects, cinematography, Alexandre Desplat's musical score, the action sequences, David Yates' direction, and the performances. At the box office, Part 2 claimed the worldwide opening weekend record, earning $483.2 million, as well as setting opening day and opening weekend records in various countries. As of 2016, the film is the eighth highest-grossing film of all time. It became the highest-grossing film of 2011, the highest-grossing film in the Harry Potter series, and the ninth film to gross over $1 billion.

The film won several awards and was nominated for many more, including three nominations at the Academy Awards for Best Art Direction, Best Visual Effects, and Best Makeup and Hairstyling.
