This sin occurs when a sci-fi/fantasy realm/universe is rebooted too soon in a movie, or when movies sinned match title/story plots of older movies.

In The Amazing Spider-Man, this was the first sin in any movie, and it was dissected by Jeremy Scott in the only CinemaSins' sin dissection episode. He said, "The Amazing Spider-Man was released in May 2012, exactly five f*cking years after Sam Raimi's Let Us Never Speak Of It Again Spider-Man 3 debacle, and only ten f*cking years after that trilogy's first movie," explaining that this sin was placed because The Amazing Spider-Man was released too soon.

This sin was also used in live-action remakes of Disney's classics. EWW Cinderella (2015) and EWW Beauty and the Beast (2017) featured this sin as the first in these videos just because they had matching titles and a similar plot. Other videos that have this sin include EWW Aladdin and EWW The Lion King. (both 2019)
